Curriculum

The “God’s Man UP” curriculum was developed to provide churches and small-groups a structured and systematic tool for intentionally engaging men and helping reframe or rekindle the conversation about what it means to be a “Man of God”.  It grew out of a personal struggle during that “mid-life crisis” that men seem to go through.  Over the course of several weeks and many hours of prayerful searching the scriptures that would shed light on the critical questions in a man’s life, the basic framework of the curriculum emerged.

Thanks for taking the time to review the curriculum and please contact our ministry if you have any questions.  My deepest passion is to speak into the lives of men to help them “Recapture a Biblical Vision for Authentic Manhood.”  What I have found in talking with men of different ages, backgrounds, and social status, is that there are some consistent questions that arise in a man’s heart.  These questions are being asked by teens, young adults, single and married men, middle age professionals, and many more.  How we walk through answering these questions is critical to helping a man build a strong sense of who he is; with a developed perspective of who God is.

 The QUESTIONS:

  1. Why is this study necessary?
  2. Does it really matter?
  3. Who am I?
  4. Where do I belong?
  5. Why am I here?
  6. Do I have what it takes?
  7. Have I made a difference?

 The ANSWERS:

  • WHY IS THIS STUDY NECESSARY?
    • Facing a SERIOUS FAILURE
      • This study into authentic biblical manhood is necessary because there is far too much at stake in our culture and even in the church.  Men are absent from the critical areas of church, family and community; then MUST be intentionally engaged, equipped, and empowered to be the men that God has called them to be. [read more]
  • DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHAT I BELIEVE?
    • Establishing a SPIRITUAL FRAMEWORK
      • Man is a created being, made in the image of a Creator God.  As God’s creation, it really does matter what perspective we hold as we establish who we are as men.  As a men of God, it is critical that secure our faith in God, deal with the question of eternity, and recognize that we have an spiritual enemy that stands against us as we pursue God’s plan for our lives. [read more]
  • WHO AM I?
    • Laying a STRONG FOUNDATION
      • As we deal with the question of identity, it is important to remember that man’s identity is not wrapped up in who he is or what he does . . . his identity is based on who God is and what He has done.  Very simply, as men, we are who God says we are and is clarified is God’s Word.  Our first source for defining authentic manhood is biblical truth and becoming a man is an intentional decision to live out God’s blueprint for who He made us to be. [read more]
  • WHERE DO I BELONG?
    • Building a STRONG FAMILY
      • Everyone wants to be accepted, to find a place where they belong.  Unfortunately, many men are looking for their sense of ACCEPTANCE in all the wrong places.  Because men normally lean towards their accomplishments as part of their identity, they tend to look for places to belong that will fill that need.  Without a clear focus on God and family, this can lead to some pretty funky places that can be unhealthy and end up in broken relationships at home.  As men of God, we need to Break Up with the world and Show Up in our family; the world can do without us, our families can’t.
  • DO I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
  • HAVE I MADE A DIFFERENCE?
